Collaborative Management of Flight Updates is the Airport CDM contribution to ATFCM. It integrates Airport CDM into the core of the flow and capacity management process. By establishing Airport CDM information exchange with the CFMU systems Collaborative Management of Flight Updates are re-conciliating the network view with Airport Operations, closing the loop between en route / arrival constraints and departure planning.

 

The exchange of dynamic CDM information between the CFMU and the airport is realised by:

 

• Sending DPI from the airport concerned to the CFMU. These messages contain latest information on e.g. aircraft type, taxi times, SID and estimates or target times for off-blocks and take off of a particular flight.
• Sending FUM from the CFMU to the airports concerned, providing the Airport CDM platform with e.g. the flight status and estimate landing times.

                    

The network will benefit from Airport CDM as more reliable take-off predictions will enable efficient use of existing slots, and supports calculation of more feasible slots.
