Airport CDM Completeness Criteria

Validation AnalysisTransition Scheme

‘Collaborative Management of Flight Updates’ one of the Airport CDM concept elements, aims to transmit updated departure planning information to CFMU enabling ATFM slots to become reactive. This concept element can be very beneficial and airport partners tend to contact CFMU directly trying to install DPI message transmission as quickly as possible. Hence flight information sent to CFMU must be accurate and consistent, and monitoring of the flight has to take place according to Airport CDM processes.

A validation process to assess the level of implementation of Airport CDM and the provided information by airport partners has been developed. As a consequence evaluation whether the airport is ready for connection to the network, by means of DPI message transmission, is carried out.

Prior to deployment, Collaborative Management of Flight Updates will be evaluated. The exchange of DPI and FUM messages is the subject of extensive evaluation and testings. The transition from one phase to the next is according to the following scheme.

It is important for the CFMU to know what the triggers of the DPI messages are and to understand what will be the content and source of the data. All details have to be recorded and agreed in the DPI-ICD between an airport and the CFMU.
